Born on social media, always with fashion as its banner, Matières Fécales is a project where difference itself is celebrated. “Hannah”, their Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collection, is no exception. This season tells a love story that began with a predestined sketch.

Although not the most consistent runway, the narrative of love was palpable. Years ago, Steven Raj Bhaskaran drew a portrait of Hannah Rose Dalton before ever meeting her, and when they finally did, it felt like destiny fulfilled—soft tulle draped around a bare silhouette completing the vision.

With nods to Givenchy and McQueen, the story unfolded in shades of pink contrasted with black, featuring frayed edges instead of polished finishes at the gathers. The maison reminds us of what remains after fabric is placed: that to achieve a pristine final product, the excess drape must be cut away.

Midway through, the show took a turn with the introduction of denim and silhouettes such as hoodies and corsets. Yet the vitality of the brand’s concept of “life” remained intact, underscoring its urgency to embrace different shapes. They proved capable of playing with both polish and randomness—and that both visions of fashion carry equal strength.

Matières Fécales continues its search for a solid identity, yet it positions itself with the drama and theatricality we’ve longed for since the 2000s. Fearless in making their voice heard, they stand out boldly against the timeless elegance of Paris.
